Along with private equity firm Silver Lake, Silicon Valley's most powerful venture capitalist, Marc Andreessen, is leading an effort to buy a big stake in Yahoo.

It's Michael Ovitz, the cofounder of CAA, and former president of Disney.
The two – Andreessen the current king of the Valley, and Ovitz the former top player in Hollywood – are apparently very close. Andreessen's firm, Andreessen Horowitz, is even designed to run the way Ovitz ran CAA.
What's does Ovitz's involvement mean for the deal itself? It might mean that JP Morgan gets involved somehow. Ovitz and the bank like to work together.
